Education

The Daughters of Charity have provided education to those who are poor since our beginnings.

Marguerite Nasseau, the first Daughter of Charity, would gather young people around her to teach them to read. We believe that education is key in breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting systemic change.

Today, the Daughters of Charity co-sponsor ten schools in the Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, including schools in California and Arizona. Daughters of Charity work in early childhood and adult education and formation in various settings. We believe that all are entitled to a Catholic education regardless of economic status.

Totally given to God, in a spirit of humility, simplicity, and charity for the service of those who are poor since 1633.
