| Vocation Prayer
 O God, I want to pray to You today,
but sometimes I am afraid
of what You might ask me to do.
I want to follow Your path
and learn to listen to Your voice.
I want to be open to Your call
in whatever place and way of life
You wish me to be.
Help me to get rid of my selfishness
and my desire for the riches of this world.
Help me seek what will make
me truly happy, what will make me
learn to love others as you do.
Help me to recognize the gifts that You have given me,
with which I wish to make the world a better place.
Help me reach out to the poor
and those less fortunate than I am.
Help me remember that we are all
children of Your love,
held in Your love forever.
Thank You, Lord, for this love.
Help me to respond to it as You wish.
making my whole life a gift.

 O Loving Creator,
Who filled St. Vincent, St. Louise and
St. Elizabeth Ann with charity,
hear our prayer
and give us Your Love.
Following their example
make us discover and serve
Jesus Christ, Your Son,
in our suffering brothers and sisters.
Teach us to love and serve
with humility, simplicity, and charity.
By their prayer,
change our hearts from selfishness
to compassion and concern for others.
Make us remember that we all, one day,
will be judged on our love. |
